Stan - Should I leave the tranny in nuetral, forward or reverse when sailing with the engine turned off? Thanks

Hi All- I have a 1505 with the 100 amp alternator that I am trying to connect a Balmar ARS-5 regulator to- has anyone connected up a Balmar regulator to the 100 amp alternator, and if so, which terminal is the field terminal? Thanks! John

Do I need to worry about a battery charger and alternator attempting to charge my batteries at the same time? This is on a 1505 with optional 100 amp alternator.
