Hi, We have a Beta 38 hp 2011 model I think. There is a coil or a block by the starter that has some wires coming out the bottom. One of the wires broke. It is black under the red paint. What is your recommendation on using a scoop on the raw water thru hull vs. no scoop? My inclination is to not use a scoop. The reasoning being that it is easier to clean the thru hull opening. My yard says the scoop keeps debris out of the engine but I would think my Vetus raw water strainer would do a very go...
