Sir,
I have 20 ft boat hull is same with the old lifeboats but not the 2 ender.I want to repower with beta but not sure which 10 hp or 14 hp also need to know propeller size to suit this boat.I bought this boat without engine but was told that boat is about 20 year old plus fibreglass UK build and use to be powered by lister single cylinder doing 4 knots.
Anyone can help me on this.Im in the republic of Kiribati maybe I can get engine from australia or new Zealand.Is there a dealer in the Fiji islands.I can send photos of this boat to anyone for more information

Hello,

I would use the Beta 14 as it is basically the same engine as the 10 and the extra RPM and HP may come in useful one day. I suspect that you will be better off with the 2.6:1 transmission ratio if you can use a 14 propeller on this boat.
