Will this tranny fit to a Kabota 13.5 engine. This transmission came off a universal diesel on a 28 ft sailboat. Its used but a good price on craiglist. Or is it just better to go with a new factory spec tranny that Beta marine sells. Used one is 275$. New one well if its under 800 I would be happy. any thoughts.
This is an old transmission. It has the same bolt pattern and drive spline as the TMC40 transmission so it will fit the Beta Marine flywheel housing, but there is a differance in drop center.
Generally people dont take a good working transmission out of a boat. Before you make your purchase, find out how many hours are on it and why it was taken out.
The seller said he replaced his engine and it came with new transmision, but good point. I'm really not at transmission and stuffing box set up. Still need to just rebuild this Beta 13.5 I got from Hurricaine Rita/ Katrina blues. I'm going to let it go
