This has been done before. In each case the engine used was the Beta 43 with the adaptor kit for the Velvet Drive transmission. If your transmission is working, I would have your current Velvet Drive and V drive freshened up and then they should be good for another 30 years. You will want a high rise exhaust elbow to get a decent exhaust run.
