We have had excellent results with the Beta 38 in numerous Pearson 365 repowers. You will find the Beta 38 to be extremely smooth and quiet while saving you about 100 lbs in weight. The Beta 38 will easily push your boat to hull speed.
There is a good chance that you currently have a 1:1 Velvet Drive or Paragon gear connected to a 2:1 Walter V-drive.
The Beta 38 can be supplied with a velvet drive adaptor kit that will allow you to reuse your current transmission! The kit provides everything you will need to mount your transmission and even includes an oil cooler piped into the raw water cooling.
Beta offers some very nice engine options that make servicing a v-drive installation much easier.
Ř The multi groove alternator belt option will provide a serpentine type belt that requires very little attention in way of adjustment or replacement. This belt is standard with the 100 amp alternator.
ŘA rear facing raw water pump will provide access from the side of the engine.
ŘRemote oil filter option that will allow placement of the oil filter in the most convenient location.
Please call our office to discuss your particular application.

New to this. I have a Pearson 40 with the 4-107 Westerbeke. She is broken (rod)! The Paragon transmission and Walter are in good shape. What do you suggest?
The Pearson 40 has been repowered a number of times with the Beta 43. This engine fits in the compartment and will drive the boat better that the old Perkins did.
If your Paragon is an hydraulic one it will fit the velvet drive adaption kit that we supply with the 43. However as there are very few parts left for these transmissions, it may pay to look at replacing the Paragon with a new Velvet Drive 1:1. Your Walter can be fitted to the new transmission.
You will need a custom high rise exhaust elbow and I recommend a remote oil filter to make servicing easier.
Thanks. I have the remote oil and fuel filters installed and very much like them with the reversed engine. Also would want the water pump reversed too. The Paragon is not hydraulic but is in good shape as is the Walter 10. Unfortunately for me, I just replaced the exhaust line from manifold out to the muffler a very few hours ago.
Anything that makes servicing easier. Now, if you could make it cheaper!
