I repowered an 80 year old cruiser with a Beta 75 combined with a Hybrid Marine 10KW electric drive.  I believe this was their first hybrid of this size sold in the US.

Obviously the purchase was speculative and risky on my part, as the system was prototypical -- so I expected glitches and burps.  There have been some in the 7 months since it was installed, but I must say the service and attention I have recieved from Beta and Hybrid Marine are amazing.  I'm a wooden boat builder and Chandler myself, and have plenty of experience with marine service companies, boatyards and retailers from over-priced to shoddy to shady -- and Beta is certainly not among them.  I have never worked with anyone so forthright, professional and just plain honest as Graeme at Hybrid Marine and Stanley at Beta Marine.   If anyone out there is thinking of powering, repowering or (like me) taking a flyer on a diesel hybrid system, do it with these guys.  You cannot go wrong.
