I have trouble starting the engine after it sit overnignt. It takes at least 8 to 10 seconds for it to start. After the start it will start that day within 3 revs. Never had that problem before.

I have changed the filters, new injectors,bleed the whole system, still hard first start. I was in Bimini Bahamas and took on fuel and on the way back with about 7 hours runnin the engine stopped. We found out that fuel had water in it. This engine is on an Irwin 10/4 and has been there since 1991 when this yanmar was installed. If the compression was low, why does it starts perfectly after the first start?

The engine does not burn oil and the exhaust is smokeless,except on the first charge the exhaust is dark smoke. If anyone out there have any suggestions please lt me know. Thanks
