I see the BV 1505 listed at 35BHP@2800 rpm, 37.5BHP@3000rpm, and 38BHP@3600rpm.  What are the physical differences to the engine which create the three variants?

The basic engine has not changed much over the years but there have been changes to the fueling to keep up with the emission requirements.
The older engines developed 37.5HP at 3,000.The new and current versions are available as 35HP at 2,800 RPM or 38 HP at 3,600 RPM.
