Twisted engine mount cover

The steel covers on the  port side engine mounts on our  Beta 60 are twisted, for no apparent reason.  Refer I have emailed a photo to Stanley because I cannot get one to upload, perhaps because of my poor internet access in the Canary Islands.

We just noticed this, although we have run several hundred hours.  It  may have been that way all along

When we run the engine up to 1500 rpm in gear while held at dock, there is only the slight forward movement we would  expect, no change in the twist.

Slackening off the mounting bolts to try to  straighten the steel covers would be more work on our engine than most

We have checked the engine alignment by opening the coupling and alignment is OK

What to do, if anything?

Hello Neil,

The covers need to be straight with the base of the mount.

As they are installed in the photo, the rubber isolator element is under a constant twisting load and they are not working as designed. This will increase engine vibration and lead to premature failure of the mount.
