Transmission Lube question

I just finished the install of a new Beta 25, and my friend (and Beta vendor) tells me that this transmission requires ATF and it cannot be the newer synthetic version. Since I used Amzoil synthetic in my previous Hurth 50 for a decade with no problems I am puzzled about this advice.

He also advises that use of a synthetic ATF will void the warranty. Well, that would not be good thing!

It might be just a lack of searching, on my part, but a quick stop at a local NAPA store did not show me any "old fashioned" plain ATF. Maybe I did not look at all the labels thoroughly. (?)

Is there really a prohibition of using synthetic ATF in my TMC40 transmission ?

Thanks much.

Poor forum practice to reply to my own post perhaps.
But during a visit to WM today for another reason I checked their oil shelf and they do sell Chevron ATF. So I bought a quart.
I remain curious as to why synthetic oil is 'banned" by Betamarine, however.

Synthetic oils are not banned!
However you may not extend the service intervals and the standard ATF does just fine.
If however you are happy to pay 3 or 4 times over the odds for the synthetic stuff, you are welcome to do so.
