Hello Jimo,

The manual lists capacity as .2 liters. This equals 6.76 oz. This is the capacity of the transmission when empty and horizontal.

'Fluid level' changes after the gear is filled once and installed at the vessels shaft angle.

Always use the dipstick when checking fluid level. Add enough fluid until the level comes up between the two marks on the dipstick. Never over fill.

On the TMC transmissions, the dipstick is inserted all the way in to check fluid level. Engine not running. Put a touch of grease on the rubber dipstick plug and it will make it easier to push in and out.

The dipstick is very hard to read after snaking it out from behind the engine. What happens if overfilled?

If overfilled, the high speed spinning gears can cause the fluid to become "foamy". Excessive foaming can cause poor lubrication of the gears and bearings and also inhibit proper cooling of the gear.

I have a leak from the transmission. It only throws atf when in gear. It does not drip when at rest at all. I have probably overfilled it. Now what? I assume a seal is leaking and must be replaced unless you have other suggestions. The transmission has only 600 hours. Thx.

I would check the ATF level and lower it to between the marks. If the transmission is overfilled, it can push ATF out the vent at the top of the transmission.

Check your shaft alignment. If it is out too far, the rear seal may leak while underway.

If it still leaks, you may need a new input or output seal.
