Maintenance questions

Hi,'

Hi have a Beta 14 installed June 2015. The engine only has 65 hours on it.   I have done all maintenance but each year I have looked and the raw water impeller always looks fine, so I have not replaced it. With only 65 hrs on it, should I replace it this time. If you think so, then I have a spare impeller I bought from Beta four years ago. Can I use that impeller after it has sat as a spare for four years or should discard it and buy a new one?

Hello,

Rubber impellers do have a shelf life but I cannot tell you exactly what it is as storage conditions such as heat definitely affect this.
We try to rotate our stock every three month so that we only supply fresh impellers.
I would replace the impeller that is in the engine as one of the blades may have developed a crack while static and bent over in the pump.
