My A4 only gets about 1500 RPM at maximun, according to the manufacturers chart that gives me around 9 hp. I want to keep my cost to a minimum and am now rethinking going from a 20 to a 16hp engine. Question, the 16hp engine is a direct replacement but gets its max rating at 3600 RPM and 14hp at 3000 RPM...

I have a problem with the belt on my BD1005. I have replaced several belts and have had two belts wear through while underway. I have aligned the pulleys as best I can and keep the belts tight. Anyone have a similar problem or a solution?

I am probably going to replace my Westerbeke W-30 in my 1978 Cal 34. The engine requires a V-drive. What are the implications of connecting to a V-drive? Is there an option to reverse the location of the exhaust?

I am looking to install an engine in my Lyle Hess designed 32' sailboat. She is strip-planked and displaces 10 ton. Is there a big downside to an off-set engine? I was hoping not to cut out my rudder. And how much engine is "too much"? Thanks
