The official view on bio diesel is to avoid it or, dont use it as more than 5% of your fuel. This is because when you purchase diesel fuel at the pump, the fuel is refined to a certified standard and as far as the manufacturers of the fuel injection systems are concerned, bio diesel is not produced to the same rigid standard so, if you have a problem, you would be on your own. This is not to say that the bio diesel is bad (a lot of it does get used ) but you must be very careful about what you buy. There is also a problem with much reduced lubricating oil life because of a number of factors. I am sure that this will be changing over the next few years but this is the position now. You will get a lot more information from the various oil company websites.
