beta marine D1105

I have a D1105, identification found under the heat exchanger, on the side of the block.
My question is, I don't see any information on these models on any of the beta marine sites. I understand they are similar to the D1005. Is there a source for some information on these engines? I have little to no history from the previous owner.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris,

Beta Marine have not marinised the D1105 for propulsion use. We only use this block as a generator engine. It is the same physical size as the D1005 but has completely different run characteristics. It develops a nominal 28HP at 3,000RPM whereas the D1005 develops its 28 HP at 3,600RPM. I suspect that if your engine has a Beta Marine heat exchanger, that it was actually marinised by Phasor when they were still importing heat exchanger kits for generators direct from Beta Marine in England. After they copied the original Beta Marine heat exchanger and put their name on it, they were no longer supplied by Beta Marine. We have since made changes to our heat exchanger design to improve efficiency.

That said, we can still help you with engine parts but you must specify exactly what you want to get the correct parts as we will not be able to check against serial numbers in our database.

Regards,
Stanley
