What would cause the tach to go past maximum and stay there and the hours LCD display flash gibberish?
Was motor sailing this afternoon with my BV-1505 "C" panel at about 2200 RPM, when the tach pinned it self above max and the hours display flashed something other than eng hrs.
I stopped the engine and when I restarted the displays were normal for a while and then went haywire again.
Can you please let me know what alternator and regulator are on your engine.
Because the tach and hour meter are both erratic at the same time it does seem to be either a faulty plug at the back of the tach or mabye it was knocked by something. Failing that it may be a faulty tach.
I am having this exact same issue with my beta 28, with the standard alternator (65amp?). The tacho needle pins above max and sits there, the hours display flashes mostly gibberish and is extremely difficult to read. This will happen maybe 1 out of 5 times. I'm curious if you found a solution to this? Was it indeed a faulty tach?
