Beta Marine is relatively new to me, but everything I've read about Beta is strongly positive! I have a 1978 Buccaneer 285 (27') sailboat with an all-but-dead Volvo MD6B engine (10 hp). That chronically troubled engine has always seemed underpowered for this boat. Thinking of repowering with a Beta 14 or 16, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience repowering a Buccaneer 285 (or other Buccaneer models) with a Beta.
Especially hoping for comments from Beta folks as I will be attending the Annapolis Sailboat Show in October and for sure will be looking for the Beta exhibit. See ya there!
