Hi,

I have a 1977 Westerly Pentland katch powered by a VOLVO MD 11C. This motor needs to be replaced and have decided to go with BM. Beta Marine Canada recommended the BM 30HP to have a piece of mind here where the currents under the main bridges are very strong.

Would like to know what configuration of the BM 30hp would be optimal for my boat to order.

Hello Sergio,

The Beta 30 should be a generous amount of power for this vessel.

I will assume that you will be limited to 14 or 15 inch diameter propeller.

A 2:1 gear ratio with a 3 blade propeller will be best with this engine.
