Question on overflow of cooling water

If the engine (mine Beta 60) overheats, where does the hot water/steam go?

Looking at the Beta drawing 100 056421 of the header tank, it seems that it will just blast out round the cap.  There is what looks like an overflow connection, but it is capped in the drawing.

On cars, any overflow goes in a small pipe that can go to an expansion tank, or safely down below the car, but the Beta drawing shows a capped hose connection.

There is an overflow connection in the filler neck. As you are in the UK, I suggest that you get one of the UK Beta Marine dealers to check over your installation.
