Engine Oil Recommendation

I have a Beta 20. I'm reading the operators manual and it says to use API Classification CF ( CD or CE) oil. These categories seem to be obsolete these days.

What would be the new API classification recommendation for oil these days?

We use Shell Rotella 15W/40. This is a great diesel engine oil which is readily available.
Use the regular Rotella, not the synthetic one.
