Threads on cap for waste oil pump?

My Beta 38 WOC K35616 has a manual waste engine oil pump. The outlet of the pump has a metal cap with o-ring (photo attached). What are the threads on the cap? I would like to get a plastic thread-to-barb fitting with short hose to use in place of the cap to better direct waste oil into a container.

I suggest that you use 1/2" id hose and slide it onto the outlet tube of the pump and fit a hoseclamp to secure it.
Anything that screws into the outlet tube will have too small an inside diameter to have any flow.

Thanks, Stan. I'll try it that way.

Related, any thought of drilling a hole in the back of that little cap and securing it to the pump with some kind of keeper? Every time I touch the cap it is with great worry about dropping it into the bilge!
