I have a water heater that is above the engine and understand that I need a coolant expansion tank for this situation. I noticed that you have a metal coolant expansion tank that goes inline with the hoses that connect the engine to the water heater. Beta has a coolant expansion tank that connects the the engine via a single hose that appears to connect to the thermostat housing. Is one scenario better than the other?
The reason I'm asking is that my water heater is about 6' aft of the engine and there is no place to mount a coolant expansion tank high enough between the engine and water heater. I have a bit of room to mount a coolant expansion tank above and in front of the engine, which leads me to think that the Beta coolant expansion tank might be a better choice for me. Is there a reason you do not offer the Beta coolant expansion tank?
It does not work as well. The goal is to prevent air from collecting in the run of water heater hose that is elevated over top of the engine breather cap. Putting the breather cap in that run of elevated hose works best.

I have an Isotemp heater where the engine in and out are at the same level at the bottom of the tank (see picture). In other words, the engine in is not lower than the engine out on the water heater. Where do I put the expansion tank in a scenario like this? I had no issues with the old engine (Perkins 4.108) without an expansion tank above the water heater. I just had to loosen one of the hoses at the heater to let the trapped air escape and the water started circulating as intended.
Note that the release pressure of the header tank breather cap is a LOWER than the breather cap on the heat exchanger. This is crucial to to the success of the system.
RE: The single hose design.
