Beta 38 cruising rpms

Hi,

We have had our Beata 38 now for over 12 years and love it. No problems. Now if I can remember right when Phil installed it he said we could run it at 2600 rpms all day. We have two 100 amp alternators factory installed, a 3 blade prop and a 36' boat with a 27' water line. In another post about a Beata motor, smaller one, it was said it could run all day at any of the rpm range safely.

Would that apply to our 38 Beata also, run it at any rpm all day in the range of the throttle?

In other words can we run it all day at say 3000 rpm and not damage the motor or anything?

I realize the fuel consumption would be much different. We usually run 2300 to 2400 rpms but at times would like to crank it up a bit.

Thanks,

Chip

We run our 38 at 2400/2500 rpm for cruise. It gives us good speed and economy for our size boat.

I believe you could run at 3000rpm all day but your fuel economy vs speed would suffer.

Check  out the horsepower/torque chart vs fuel consumption in your mannual.
