Cabo Rico 34 repower

I am considering a Beta for my Cabo Rico 34 repower. Presently have a Universal 35B.

I am worried that extensive and expensive modifications will be necessary to install the Beta. I'd like to hear from anyone with personal experience repowering a CR 34 with a Beta.

Hello Nico,

The Beta 35 is an excellent choice for repower in the CR 34. The Beta 35 will give a bit more power at a lower RPM than the 35B.

Both engines have the exhaust on the port side. Exhaust size on both engines will be 2" inside diameter.

Standard Beta 35 mounts are 16" wide. As are the standard mounts on the 35B. Cabo may have changed the mounts. You can supply photos for evaluation.

Engine mounts can be supplied very close to the same height. A thin spacer on top of the old engine beds may be required.

The Beta engine is about 2.5" longer than the 35B. The Beta will be about 1" taller.

Feel free to call and discuss your project.
